The Emerald Village Association

The Emerald Village Committee was originally formed over 20 years ago. It was always a Section 86 Committee of the Cardinia Shire Council until it incorporated in early 2020. It is now the The Emerald Village Association Inc., independent of Council and can make decisions on any issues it sees fit.

The purpose of the EVA Inc.:

To strive to be the voice of Emerald, by representing and liaising with local groups and individuals so that matters of public interest can be identified and evaluated;
To liaise with the Cardinia Shire Council and others on matters of public interest;
To identify the unique strengths of the Emerald village community to build proposals from those strengths;
To provide a conduit for all local organisations and community members to the Cardinia Shire Council, its CEO, Ward Councillors, staff and representatives;
To build and maintain a network of local community groups;
To develop an annual business plan which clearly identifies objectives that EVA Inc. aims to achieve, and
To promote specific community projects which will enhance the sustainability of Emerald village and the well being of the community.

Achievements:

We are thrilled as to how our Pen Pal Project has kicked off with over 150 participants.

We welcome your input, feedback and ideas about all things Emerald; from traffic management and planning to recreation and tourism. But please, keep it respectful. Application for membership

To apply to become a member of the Association, a person must submit a written application to a committee member stating that the person: • wishes to become a member of the Association; and • supports the purposes of the Association; and • agrees to comply with these Rules. The application • must be signed by the applicant; and • may be accompanied by the joining fee. • Note The joining fee is the fee (if any) determined by the Association under rule 12(3). Consideration of application • As soon as practicable after an application for membership is received, the Committee must decide by resolution whether to accept or reject the application. • The Committee must notify the applicant in writing of its decision as soon as practicable after the decision is made. • If the Committee rejects the application, it must return any money accompanying the application to the applicant. • No reason need be given for the rejection of an application. New membership If an application for membership is approved by the Committee: • the resolution to accept the membership must be recorded in the minutes of the committee meeting; and • the Secretary must, as soon as practicable, enter the name and address of the new member, and the date of becoming a member, in the register of members. • A person becomes a member of the Association and, subject to rule 13(2), is entitled to exercise his or her rights of membership from the date, whichever is the later, on which— o the Committee approves the person's membership; or o the person pays the joining fee.
